For those that have been watching the news about Hurricane Sandy...

I live in New Jersey so we're preparing for it since we're in the "red zone"...they're predicting power outages anywhere from 2 weeks to a month, depending on damage. *sigh*

Thank you for letting us know. Please take care of yourself. I sure hope it isn't as bad as they're predicting, but it always pays to be as careful as possible in situations like this, and to prepare for the worst case scenario.

I'll keep you in my thoughts.

Hope you ride out the storm safely and the power outages are better than last year's double fiasco. It's scary for me because if the roads are passable at all I'll have to try and get to work Monday, even though the expectation is that the weather will get worse as the day goes on....so a nasty ride home, probably many detours for flooding (Passaic Country - flood plain central - argh!) Then at night we'll probably lose power so no heat, no lights, can't open the fridge or freezer, and only a limited number of flushes. And who knows for how long. DOUBLE ARGH!

ya, I'm going to the grocery store on the weekend to get stuff that will last should we end up without power for awhile~
randrews25 can tell you all about my ritual of naming grey hairs in honor of certain people she was one quite recently.

Oh, and may your plot bunnies calm down until everything blows over perhaps literally.

Wow, that must be some storm if you're getting that hard in NJ.

yeah, we have the hurricane coming up but also a low front from up north that's going to hit at the same time so it's going to have an effect on the storm that makes it worse than regular.

yeah, that's worse case scenario though, hopefully it's not that long. I've been watching the weather channel (I mute it when it starts to repeat)~ weather guys here say the center will go over Long Island, but the weather peeps in Europe say it'll go over DE Valley, but no matter which we're still in the red zone. Thankfully our stove top is gas so we have some ability to heat up food should power go out for an extended period of time. I already went out to get candles, new flashlights, and toilet paper. Going grocery shopping this weekend to stock up on non perishables and such.

Take care. Am in Virginia and just left the coast a week ago. And glad I did not have to go to CT right now. And was in Boston for the last Hurricane.
Shudders to think of driving through this.
I hope it is not that bad for you but watching TWC and seeing how bad the coast of NJ is right now makes me think
it is not going to be easy for you guys.
As long as I have power I will watch info on Sandy and wish you
all well. Hope you all keep power and that you all ride this out safely.
According to the lastest map we are also in the red zone but I think I will be luckier than you guys.
Take care. Stay safe. My best wishes and prayers for you all.
